With the 2024 NFL season just a few months away and the offseason free agency period now quiet, all eyes are on the upcoming NFL Draft. For Madden fans, we’re also thinking about this year’s game — which will presumably be titled Madden NFL 25 (or Madden 25 for short).
While we’ve already had a Madden 25 release in 2013, which kind of threw off the whole numbering system, we figure EA will still go with Madden 25. But I digress.
Right now, we are here to talk about when Madden 25 may be revealed. The 2024 NFL Draft is right around the corner, with the first round set to kick off on Thursday, April 25. The draft will run for three days through Saturday, April 27.
Will Madden NFL 25 be revealed during the 2024 NFL Draft?
In the past, EA has sometimes used the NFL Draft as a platform to reveal its upcoming Madden game. However, in recent years, the reveal of a new Madden game has often taken place in the summer.
Last year, Madden NFL 24 was revealed on June 7, 2023, just a few months before its release in August.
Madden NFL 23 was also revealed in early June 2022. It was released on August 16, 2022.
In both instances, the reveal featured a look at the cover athlete as well as an overview of any new game mechanics or features. We usually had to wait a few more weeks before we saw any actual gameplay.
Madden 25 reveal will have some competition from EA College Football
Madden isn’t the only football game releasing this year. The long-awaited return of a college football video game series also returns this year!
EA Sports College Football 25 is expected to launch in July(currently, it has a “Summer” window), with a reveal set for May.
Madden 25 would be perfect for an April reveal during the NFL Draft, but in all likelihood, it will be in June.
This is how I imagine it all unfolding. We have the EA Sports College Football 25 reveal in May, followed by the Madden NFL 25 reveal in June. Then EA Sports College Football 25 will be released in July, with Madden NFL 25 launching in August.
The 2024-25 NFL season begins on September 5, which means Madden 25 should launch a few weeks earlier. It has typically been released about mid-August, which is when I expect this year’s game to launch as well.
